The Program
WPI has created a pathway for artisans with less than 3 years of industry experience to gain more education, client experience, and portfolio building in order to grow in the freelance world of the beauty industry. The WPI Apprentice Program is perfect for artisans who have just graduated beauty school, worked in beauty retail, those who are looking to up level their self taught skills etc.
The program is a 6 month commitment. At the conclusion of the program WPI may extend a full Artisan contract to come on board as a freelance Artisan with the company.
Customized lessons
During your 6 months as an Apprentice, you will take a series of one on one lessons with a WPI Instructor. Your lessons are tailored specifically to what you need to learn and master! You will start by doing an evaluation with a WPI Instructor in order to establish a baseline of your skills. The evaluation is a complimentary 1.5 hour assessment. After the evaluation your instructor will create a customized lesson plan.
Your technical classes will be hands on learning with a live model! Our educator team has a combined total of over 35+ years of industry experience. You will learn from some of the best!

The Cost
$50 enrollment fee.
$150 per lesson. Lessons are typically 2 hrs.
Note: the amount of lessons needed will be determined by your Educator and be dependent on how you progress throughout the program. Most apprentices need 4-5 lessons.
Note: the program requires that you have your own professional artisan kit that you purchase at your own expense. If you already have a kit, great! If you don’t we are happy to provide a list of recommended tools & products to you.

Lessons will take place in person and are usually about 2 hours each. The exact location will be determined by you and your instructor. A live model will be required for each makeup lesson, and a mannequin head or live model will be required for the hair lessons.

No. However we do recommend having a baseline of experience. Self-taught, beauty retail, fresh out of beauty school, etc.

No and you will be a more rounded artist if you are able to do both makeup and hair. Additionally, you will have more income opportunities.

Yes. WPI Artisans (Apprentice or otherwise) are all insured for liability in the event an accident was to happen. We are a mobile agency, operating in other people's homes, workspaces, or venues.

No. One of the benefits of the WarPaint International Apprentice program is that we will provide you with opportunities to build a portfolio.

Yes. Our clients are "on-location", as will you be. Owning transportation or having a secured and reliable form of getting from point A to point B is required.

Yes. WarPaint Apprentices represent our brand. By enrolling in the WarPaint International Apprentice Program you agree to complete the Apprentice Program requirements, maintain an online calendar for accuracy, wear the WPI branded T-shirt to all appointments, and refrain from cross-promotion of your (or other businesses) while working with WPI clients. You are contracted as an Independent Contractor and paid by the job.

Yes. However should you need to start your kit, we will be able to assist you with a list of entry-level products and tools needed to get started.

Yes. Our customers' privacy and safety is very important to us, as well as the safety of our artists. We will not knowingly send a convicted criminal or individual with a background of abuse, arrests, or other misdemeanors into our client's homes. If you are unwilling to have a background check processed or are unsure about its outcome, a partnership with WarPaint International may not be the right fit for either party.
